Call (862) 318-3997 or send the form on this page and we will get you a written estimate.

New siding does two jobs at once. It changes how the house looks from the street, and it keeps water and wind out of the walls behind it. We install siding across Clifton, Montclair, Bloomfield, Wayne, and the nearby towns, matching the style and color you want with materials made for New Jersey weather. You get a written estimate up front, no surprise line items at the end.

Siding Installation in Bloomfield, NJ

Bloomfield's 1920s colonials are siding's best customers. Many still wear original wood clapboard under one or two layers of later material, and the houses themselves are worth dressing well. Brookdale's tree streets, the two-families toward the Parkway side, the four-squares near the green: we've sided all of them.

Siding installation in Bloomfield NJ on houses this age starts with what's underneath. Stripping back eighty years of layers tells the truth about the sheathing, and we fix what we find before the new skin goes on. That step is exactly what the low bid skips. It's also the only thing standing between your new siding and the rot it would otherwise be hiding.

Glen Ridge, Nutley, and Belleville carry the same housing DNA. One crew radius covers all of it from Clifton.

Color note from experience: these older streetscapes punish trendy colors fast. The grays and deep blues that look sharp today read fine here, but sample boards against your actual brick and roof beat picking from a screen. We bring them.

Signs You Need This

  • Paint or stain cycles keep getting shorter
  • Panels cracked, faded, or warped across whole walls
  • Energy bills climbing with no HVAC change
  • Moisture or rot showing at the sheathing
  • The house is the tired one on the block

How It Works

  1. Free consult, walk the exterior, talk material and color.
  2. Written itemized estimate before anything is ordered.
  3. Old siding off, house wrap inspected and replaced as needed.
  4. New siding hung, trimmed, caulked, and cleaned up.

What Moves the Price

Square footage and material tier. Vinyl is the value play; insulated vinyl and fiber cement climb from there. Rot discovered behind old siding is priced per repair, approved before we proceed.

Warranty That Means Something

Repairs carry a 2 year workmanship warranty. Replacements are backed for 50 years. NJ Lic. #13VH11720500, fully insured, and the same crew that quoted the job does the job.

Paying For It

Seniors and military save $500. 0% financing is available on larger jobs. You get the real number in writing before anything starts.

What New Siding Actually Buys You

Completed siding installation on a Bloomfield NJ home

Siding is the house's raincoat, and most of the siding on North Jersey homes is decades past its best. New siding does three jobs at once: it stops the slow water intrusion that rots sheathing behind the walls, it cuts drafts when installed over a proper weather barrier and (where it makes sense) insulation board, and it changes the entire face of the house in a week. Of every exterior project, it's the one neighbors notice first.

The Installation Is the Warranty

Siding fails at the details: panels nailed tight instead of hung loose (vinyl must float as it expands), missing house wrap, no flashing at window heads, J-channel that channels water into the wall instead of out. Every one of those is invisible on day one and a problem by year five. Our crews hang siding the way the manufacturer's spec sheet says. Which is the unglamorous reason the warranty actually holds.

Materials, Straight Talk

  • Vinyl: the workhorse. Modern vinyl is thicker, holds color, and shrugs off freeze-thaw. The price-to-life ratio is unbeatable, which is why it's on most of the houses around here. The quality difference is panel thickness and installation, not the brochure.
  • Insulated vinyl: foam-backed panels that stiffen the wall, quiet the house, and add real R-value. Worth the upgrade on drafty older homes.
  • Fiber cement: the premium look: crisp shadow lines, paintable, fire-resistant, and immune to insects. Heavier and costlier to install, and worth it on the right house.
  • Trim and accents: fascia, soffit, and window wraps in matching or contrasting profile. Soffit venting gets sized properly while we're there, because your roof's lifespan depends on it (see roof replacement for why attic airflow matters).

The Insulation Window

The week your old siding is off is the cheapest moment you will ever have to improve the wall behind it. Housewrap goes on bare sheathing as a matter of course. Beyond that, fan-fold insulation board or insulated vinyl adds R-value for a fraction of what the same improvement costs as a standalone project. Houses from Bloomfield's main building era have little or nothing in the wall cavities, so even modest exterior insulation moves the comfort needle in February. We'll price the job both ways so the upgrade is a real decision instead of an upsell.

Reading a Siding Quote

A real quote names the panel brand and thickness, the housewrap, the trim package piece by piece, flashing at every window head, and disposal of the old material. A one-line quote that says "siding, labor and material" is a blank check for substitutions you'll never see happen. Ours itemize because the itemization is the promise. Bring us any competing quote and we'll translate it line by line, including the lines that aren't there.

Will new siding fix my drafty house? It helps, especially with insulation board behind it. Real draft-proofing also involves windows and sealing at the sill plate. We'll tell you which one your house needs before you spend siding money chasing a window problem.

What happens in rain mid-project? Walls never sit exposed overnight. Housewrap goes on the same day siding comes off. A surprise storm hits paper, not bare wood.

Permits? Where the town wants one, we pull it. That's included, not extra.

Fiber Cement or Vinyl, Decided by the House

We install both, so this isn't a pitch. Vinyl wins on price, zero maintenance, and modern thickness has fixed most of the old knocks. Fiber cement wins on looks up close, fire rating, and how it handles trim details on architectural homes. The decision usually makes itself when we look at the house: a 1920s Bloomfield colonial with deep window casings and a porch worth showing off earns fiber cement's crisper shadow lines. A practical cape or ranch where the budget also has to cover windows gets premium vinyl and nobody ever regrets it. The mistake is paying fiber cement money for a house whose lines don't show it off, or wrapping a showpiece in builder-grade panel to save what amounts to one window's cost per wall.

What happens to my shutters, lights, and house numbers? Everything comes off, gets labeled, and goes back on mounting blocks sized for the new siding depth. Exterior outlets and spigots get extension rings. It's detail work, it's included, and it's where rushed jobs show.

Can you side just the front? We'd rather not leave a house mismatched, but phased projects are real budgets. Front-plus-weather-wall first, remaining walls next season, color carried exactly. Just plan both phases up front so the panel dye lots match.

FAQs

Siding Installation FAQs

What does new siding cost?

Full projects start around $3,000 and scale with the house. Written estimate before anything is ordered.

Vinyl or something else?

We walk the options with you on the free consultation. The right answer depends on the house, the budget, and how long you plan to stay.

Do you replace the house wrap?

Yes. New siding over bad wrap wastes the siding. We do the layer underneath right.

How long does a full re-side take?

Most Clifton homes run three to five days, weather permitting.

Do I need to re-side the whole house?

No. One weathered wall can be done alone; we match as close as the material line allows.

More Siding Questions

Can you side over the old siding?

Sometimes physically possible, almost never smart. It telegraphs every wave in the old wall and hides rot you'll pay to find later. We strip to sheathing.

What season can you install?

Year-round, with cold-weather technique adjustments (vinyl gets brittle and needs looser hanging in winter).

How long does a typical house take?

Most single-family homes run three to five working days.
